Homemade Granola | Recipe

This granola recipe is so popular at our house that I have to make it every week.  It is completely natural, very low in sugar; a guilt free breakfast dish.  Luckily, all the basic ingredients are available locally in India.  It only takes 30 minutes to make (including cooking time) and makes my house smell heavenly.  We eat it with milk or sprinkle on top of yogurt.  It's yummy with craisins, chocolate morsels, or fresh or dried fruit.  


Granola

12 cups oats
1 T cinnamon
1 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla
1 1/3 cup honey
1 cup coconut oil
*this recipe is good with just the above ingredients.  You can add the optional ingredients listed below if you have them.

Optional:
1/2 cup sunflower seeds
1/2 cup hemp hearts
1/2 cup chia seeds
1/2 cup sliced almonds
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1/2 cup chopped cashews

Mix above ingredients in a large bowl.  Spread half the mixture evenly onto a baking sheet and bake at 350 for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.  Remove from oven and let sit on baking sheet until cooled.  Once cooled, crumble and store in an air tight container.  Repeat for 2nd batch.
